Recipes for Adult Projects

Glue for Envelopes/Stickers:
2 parts white glue
1 part vinegar
Mix well and paint onto project. When dry, add another 1 or 2 coats.

Bath Oils:
Soy oil, olive oil, or sunflower oil (just not vegetable oil-too short of a shelf life)
Essential oils
Vitamin E oil
Pour soy oil into decorative jar, adding about 8 drops of essential oil (more or less, depending on the size of the jar). Add about 25 drops of Vitamin E oil. Place dried flower heads or potpourri inside jar and put in cork. Heat wax slowly in old can, let cool until film is over the wax. Dip top of jar with cork in wax to seal. Decorate with raffia and dried flowers.

Bath Powder:
Mix one teaspoon perfume and 1/2 cup cornstarch. Leave out to dry and then place in cheese shaker.

Colored Flame Pinecones:
Dip pinecones in wax and then sprinkle with substance while wet. When placed in the fire, the substance will cause the flame to burn different colors.
Salt = yellow flame
Borax = green flame
Calcium Chloride = orange flame
Epsom Salts = white flames
Salt Substitute = purple
Copper Sulfate = blue-green
Boric Acid (roach powder) = green

Scented Shower Gel:
1/2 cup unscented shampoo
1/4 cup water
3/4 tsp. salt
15 drops (about) essential oil
Food coloring
Mix all ingredients and place in decorative jar.

Friendship Tea:
1/2 cup instant tea powder
1 cup lemonade powder
1 cup orange Tang
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Place in decorative jar with instructions to measure 2 - 3 tsp. per mug.

Simmering Spice Potpourri:
Mix equal parts of whole cloves, star anise, and cinnamon sticks. Place some in a square of cloth and tie closed with raffia. Attach a tag with the directions: Place in pot and cover with water. Simmer on low heat and add more water as needed.
