Child's Artwork Portfolio
Childrens artwork is very precious. They spend countless hours creating masterpieces of love that are proudly displayed on the fridge. But then what? I have stuffed my favorites in the bottom of a drawer and have felt positively guilty when I have thrown some others away.
Since I have just finished updating all my photo albums and had some page protectors left, I thought these would be perfect to use to store my childrens artwork in. You can do the same thing.
First, get a three-ring binder. Cover it however you wish with contact paper or material (hot glue would be great if you didnt want to sew). Embellish the cover with buttons, ribbon, or have your child use dimensional paints to draw and decorate it themselves, giving it their own personal touch.
Next, get some page protectors: the kind that fit in three-ring binders and has an opening at the top. Office stores sell them in 100-count boxes. You can even get acid-free protectors. Slide each page of artwork into the individual protectors and place the protectors in the binder.
This simple project would be an ideal gift for grandparents, especially if they live far away.
As another gift idea, you might also wish to have your child make a mini portfolio using a small photo album from the dollar store, filling it with mini drawings and homemade coupons promising to make their bed, clean their room, 5 free kisses, etc.
