Personalized Picture Frame
This picture frame can be adapted to reflect
Dads hobbies and interests.
Materials:
- Wooden craft picture frame from the craft store, or old,
wide, wood frame
- Odds and ends
- Hot Glue
- Varnish
- Foam Brush
Procedure:
- Make sure the frame is clean. Remove glass. Paint, if
desired, with acrylic paints. *Note: if you are using an
old frame that already has a layer of varnish on it, sand
with fine grit sandpaper to roughen, and then paint with
a layer of primer and allow to dry before painting with
the acrylic paints.
- After the paint is dried, use the hot glue gun to glue on
nuts, bolts, screws, old keys, golf tees, old fishing
lures, or whatever the recipient might like. Be sure to
lay the articles out on the frame to make sure of proper
placement before gluing them on.
- When everything is glued on as desired, use a foam brush
to apply varnish.
- Let dry. Place glass back into the frame.
***A slightly different variation would be to have the
children collect small items that they don't use anymore, such as
toy cars, plastic jewelry, or any small toys that would represent
the child, and glue these to the frame. Finish the project by
placing a current picture of the children in the frame. That way,
he will remember what they looked like and how old they were at
the time the frame was made. Surely, this will become a cherished
'Memory Frame' that he can enjoy for many, many years to come.
