Pinecone Birdhouse

Mine is on the right, my children did the others

This cute birdhouse makes a great decorating accent for indoors. It is easy enough for children to do, although if the child is small (ages 8 and under), you may want to help them break off the pinecone pieces.

Materials:

• Paper Mache birdhouse from craft store
• Pinecones (about 4 small pinecones per house)
• Tacky glue

Procedure:

1. Break off the pieces of the pinecones.
2. Starting at the bottom of the house, glue on the first layer of pinecone pieces.
3. Glue on the second row of pinecone pieces, making sure they overlap the preceding row a little, to give the effect of shingles.
4. Continue with the rest of the pinecone pieces in a similar manner, covering the sides of the house.
5. Cover the roof in the same way as you did the sides, starting at the bottom and working your way up.
