Stained
Glass Apple
This project is good for ages 4- 8 and would make a
wonderful teacher or 'just because' gift. If you want to do it
with an older child, you might want them to draw their own apple.
Materials:
- Permanent marker
- Transparency film or similar clear, somewhat-stiff
plastic
- Assorted color tissue paper
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- White glue
- Ribbon\par
Procedure:
- With the marker, either draw or trace an apple onto the
transparency film. You can make it as big or as small as
you desire. Cut out and punch a hole into the apple or
stem with the hole punch.
- Cover the apple with white glue, smearing it around with
your finger. Tear out pieces of tissue paper in different
sizes and press onto the apple, applying more glue as
needed. If paper extends over the edge of the apple, trim
with scissors when glue is dried. If your apple has a
leaf, be sure to cover the leaf as well.
- When the apple is covered and dry, tie on ribbon and hang
up in a window to enjoy.
