Popsicle Stick Card
Ornament
This simple ornament, made from the front of
Christmas cards, is designed for pre-K through 2nd
grade.
Materials:
- 4 Popsicle sticks
- Christmas card front
- Tacky glue
- Markers
- Pencil
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Optional: stickers, glitter glue
Procedure:
- Glue the 4 Popsicle sticks together to form a frame. Wait
a few minutes for the glue to harden and then decorate
sticks with markers and anything else you might have
around the house.
- Place the Popsicle stick frame over the card and trace
around the outside of the sticks. Cut along the line.
Glue to sticks. If there is writing on the back of the
card, simply cover it up with a piece of construction
paper.
- Cut a length of yarn or ribbon. Make a hole at the top
with the hole punch and thread yarn through. Tie and hang.
Ball Ornament
This Christmas card project is for grades 3
and up.
Materials:
- 8 Christmas card fronts
- Drinking glass
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Tacky glue
- Glitter glue
- Ribbon
- Hole punch
Procedure:
- Using either the top or the bottom of the glass, trace 8
circles on the Christmas cards; the bigger the circles,
the larger the ornament. I used circles with a diameter
of 2 inches.
- Fold the circles as indicated by the figure:

- Glue together using the folded part as a sort of tab: 4
on top and 4 on the bottom of the ornament.
- Punch a hole in the middle of one of the tabs.
- Cut a length of ribbon, thread through the hole and tie.
- Decorate with glitter glue.
