Give Thanks Plaque
Materials:
- Foam board or
corrugated cardboard
- Craft foam
- Dimensional Paint
- Feathers
- Cork (from sheet)
- Google eyes
- Twine (about 12
inches long)
- Burlap
- Scissors
- Tacky glue
- Fine permanent black
marker
Procedure:
- Cut the foam board (or
corrugated cardboard) and the burlap to 8 inches by 6
inches. Glue burlap onto the foam board.
- With point of
scissors, make a hole at each end of the top of the sign.
Force the twine through the hole with the scissors and
tie.
- Make a basic leaf
pattern on a scrap piece of paper and use this to trace
12 or so leaves onto the craft foam. Use the fine
permanent black marker to make veins in the leaves. Glue
leaves around the plaque on three sides, leaving the
right side empty.
- Cut a bowling-pin
shape out of the sheet cork (or brown craft foam). Glue
onto the right side of the sign. Take 3 feathers and tuck
them in under the turkey body while the glue is still wet.
- Glue on the google
eyes.
- Cut a small yellow
triangle and a red tear-drop. Glue on for the beak and
waddle.
- Use the marker to
draw on feet.
- Use the dimensional
paint to write "Give Thanks" or similar saying.
