Patriotic Angels
This project is
suitable for ages 9 and up
Materials:
- Doll Pin or Clothespin
- Wall paper scrap with patriotic theme
- Material scrap with patriotic theme
- Wire garland with stars
- Tacky Glue
- Fine-line permanent marker
- Scissors
Procedure:
- Cut the Wallpaper to the size of 7" x 4 1/2". Round top
corners and shape bottom corners into wing-type shape:

- Cut Material into 3 1/2" x 2 3/4" size.
- Cut Star Garland Wire to 6 1/2 length
- Fold wallpaper like a fan. Place glob of glue at
base of doll pin over slot. This will ensure that the glue will secure
the wing when inserted. Grab in the middle and insert into slot on the
Doll Pin. Twist carefully so that wider point of the wing is at the
top. Shape wing more if necessary.
- Cut material as shown:

Place glue on body of angel. Place material on angel so that slit goes
over wing. Wrap material around angel and secure ends with glue.
- Take garland and, with the angel facing you, starting
under the left wing, cross over to the top of the right wing. Wrap
around the back of the head and over the top of the left wing. Cross
over the body to under the right wing and secure like a twist tie at the
back of the angel.
- Use fine-line permanent marker to draw features and hair.
If desired, you can add yarn or fake fur for hair. Adding lace might make a
nice touch as well.
