Dot Art: This is fun to do along with a study of how newspaper photos are comprised of dots. Have your child place a sheet of paper (printer paper, typing paper) over a hand-drawn picture or coloring book picture. Instead of tracing and coloring, as they would normally do, have them fill in the picture with dots made from magic markers.

Shrink-it: Wash and dry white foam meat trays. Have your child draw and color images on them with a permanent marker and then cut out the designs. If the images are to have string threaded through, such as in a necklace, use a hole punch to make a hole. Place into a toaster oven and cook until flat and done. Picture will shrink to about 25% of the original.
